THE CHALLENGE

• Our customer operating in Malaysia needed to plug and abandon a shallow producer at 560m depth, at 60° inclination.
• A window had been cut through 13 3/8” and 9 5/8” casing.
• They then required an under reamer to run down the 9 5/8” casing and cut the formation back the original 16” hole to 22”, to ensure a good bond between cement and rock.
• The X800 with 22″ arms built for the job was selected to enlarge the window.
• The X800 completed the job, as shown by the caliper log, with very little wear on the tool.
