We offer a complete range of body integral blade (BIB) and sleeve integral blade (SIB) stabilizers in a wide range of diameters (4 3/4″ to 26″).
BIB STABILIZERS
Body integral blade stabilizers are cut out of a single piece of fully heat-treated AISI 4145H steel. They are the perfect design for small to medium-size stabilizers (12 1/4″ and below), improving ruggedness and job safety while remaining economical.

Hardfacing on the blades can be any of our three trademark tungsten carbide composites (see info sheet for details), or custom-made according to your needs (pressed inserts, trapezoidal blocks, etc.). Feel free to contact us to choose the best design for your job.
All our stabilizers are fully customizable. When ordering, please specify :
– Body OD and ID.
– Top and bottom connections.
– Fishing neck and tong space.
– Blade angle and type.
– Hardfacing type.
SIB STABILIZERS
We have developed an exclusive type of assembly to answer safety, durability and cost criteria for sleeve integral blade (SIB) stabilizers. Drillstar SIB stabilizers allow you to reduce maintenance and replacement costs while keeping the same safety and reliability as Body Integral Blades. Spiralled blades are cut out of one solid piece of AISI 4145 H fully heat-treated steel.
Many drilling engineers rely exclusively on body integral blade (BIB) stabilizers. Even though there is no risk of losing blades, repeated heating for hardfacing repair or replacement may generate cracks in the high tensile alloy steel, resulting in fragility and shorter lifespan. Drillstar Industries extensive engineering studies and field tests have demonstrated that safety and life span are significantly improved if two adequate qualities of steel are used for the body, the sleeve and the blade.
An assembly where blades and sleeve are of the same steel has been successfully developed and tested. To create a positive liaison between the body and the sleeve a nut (A) is set on a thread machine on the body (see sketch). Then the sleeve is preheated and shrink-fitted around the body and nut. The assembly is then completed by welding (B) of the nut (A) and the sleeve (C), both made of the same easy-to-weld steel. Thus, the sleeve can neither turn nor slide.

This design is available for diameters 12 1/4″ and above, resulting in significant savings on purchasing and maintaining these large-diameter stabilizers.
